Peru created a Digital Nomad residence category in November 2023 through Legislative Decree 1582, allowing remote workers employed by foreign companies to stay up to one year, extendable. However, as of July 2026 the category has never been activated — it does not appear in Migraciones' TUPA procedures manual, so there is no way to apply and no published income requirement or fee. Remote workers currently rely on tourist entry, which can be granted for up to 183 days per year but carries no formal work authorization.
