Indonesia's E33G Remote Worker KITAS, launched April 1, 2024, gives employees of foreign companies a one-year limited-stay permit — the country's only visa built specifically for remote workers, popular in Bali. Applicants need a US$60,000/year employment contract with a company registered outside Indonesia (self-employed and freelancers do not qualify), a US$2,000 bank balance, and international health insurance; the government visa fee is IDR 7,000,000 (~US$390) plus ~IDR 1.6M in permit/re-entry fees. The permit cannot be extended in-country — you must exit and reapply for a new one — though since December 2025 holders can sponsor a spouse, children, and parents.
