Iceland's long-term visa for remote workers lets non-EEA/EFTA nationals who don't need a Schengen visa live in Iceland for up to 180 days while working remotely for a foreign employer. The income bar is one of the world's highest at ISK 1,000,000 per month (about USD 8,000), rising to ISK 1,300,000 with accompanying family. The visa is strictly temporary: it can't be renewed, you can't get another long-term visa within 12 months, and it grants no Icelandic ID number or path to residence. Applications (form L-802, fee ISK 12,200) are submitted on paper to the Directorate of Immigration.
