Greece requires digital nomads to show net income of at least EUR 3,500/month from work performed for employers or clients outside Greece, rising 20% for a spouse and 15% per child. Since Law 5275/2026 took effect on 5 February 2026, first-time applicants must obtain the 12-month Type D visa (~EUR 75) from a Greek consulate before arrival — in-country initial applications have been abolished — after which the visa can be converted in Greece into a two-year renewable residence permit (EUR 1,000 fee). Time on renewable permits can build toward long-term residence after five years.
